Fofx Academy Partners BizSkills Academy Canada to Build Change Agents in Nigeria

Lagos, NG: 05/08/2019- With the projection by US Bureau of Labour Statistics that employment of web developers will rise much faster to 15% before 2026 compared to 7% in other occupations, it’s no doubt that there’s a growing opportunity in the tech industry for the Nigerian labour market. In response to the gap in professional skills required in the tech industry, Fofx Academy – a school for digital skills – partners with BizSkills Academy to provide learning opportunities and skills required to grow its students mindsets into job creators as well as intrapreneurs in the tech space.
According to both organisations, the partnership will enable enrollees at Fofx Academy leverage BizSkills Academy’s virtual startup school. This allows Fofx Academy students to do not only learn coding and software development, but also acquiring entrepreneurial skills to help them initiate and create new ventures. Students get access to courses, tools, financial modeling workspace, and the guidance that inspires them to think deeper and provide solutions to problems in their communities that fall within their specific interests.

The first cohort of Fofx Academy’s programming boot camp starts this August, and the students will be the first beneficiaries of this partnership which will enhance job opportunities locally and internationally as beneficiaries will not only get these skills and work on interesting ideas and projects, but also certificates which demonstrate that they have actually done these programs.
